Rachel Tantular

Rachel (Racheline) Tantular is a consultant on Asia-Pacific international affairs and public policy. She has managed projects on critical technologies and transnational crime in Southeast Asia, Japan-Southeast Asia business relations, and stakeholder mapping of economic policy decision-makers. She was previously a Policy Advisor at Reset.Tech and at the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Rachel is a University of Western Australia valedictorian, holding a Bachelor of Philosophy and First Class Honours in Asian Studies and Music. Supported by the Fogarty Foundation Scholarship and the New Colombo Plan Scholarship awarded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, her dissertation analysed state approaches to multicultural policy and incorporated primary research at the National University of Singapore. As a 2025 John Monash Scholar, she will pursue a dual master’s degree in public administration and public policy jointly organised by the London School of Economics and the National University of Singapore.

Rachel serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership. She was named as a 2023 Young Woman to Watch in International Affairs and Melbourne Asia Game Changer.

Rachel speaks English, Indonesian, Mandarin, and Japanese, and has lived in Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, and Singapore.
